Please don't hesitate to contact us. We do payment plans and most foals will be available upon weaning and are handled from birth. Foals come registered with the relevant society and are microchipped and/or branded. Colts will be gelded before sale unless a particular colt is sort after for future stud duties.
Our breeding goals
Can you have a coloured horse of exceptional breeding with excellent conformation AND a great temperament? Absolutely! That is our goal here at Arapalla, to do just that. And we still have solid coloured foals available, because all foals are beautiful regardless of colour. All the foals bred at Arapalla will be registered with the relevant society and some will be eligible for dual registration. We strive to breed foals of substance that will be suitable future saddle horses free from conformation weaknesses and genetic disease.
Some people in the horse world will say that you cannot have a coloured horse of such quality because somewhere along the line the good qualities have been sacrificed in order to get the colour. This is not the case for us here at Arapalla. We breed for pedigree (proven lines) conformation and temperament first and foremost, then colour. Yes, you can have it all, believe it or not! The coloured horses that we have chosen are exceptional individuals with impeccable breeding.
Why is a coloured horse more expensive? The truth is, they are more in demand. You have two horses with the same parents, same sex, mature same height etc, but one is black and one is chestnut. There are people out there who like chestnuts, but generally, the black will always be more in demand than the chestnut. Or you have two chestnuts, one is plain chestnut, the other has four white socks and a big blaze. The one with the bling will find a home over the plain chestnut. Remember, we are talking about full siblings of the same sex here, to use as an example. Whether it right or not right, it is fact. That is why coloured horses are more expensive, it's just the market talking. It isn't less or more of a horse, it's just more in demand.
